Wanna Contribute?

Can I contribute a guest post to Swag on Momma?

YES!  Do you have a story to tell?  An experience that changed your life?  Do you have a strength or skill we can learn from?  A cause you are passionate about?  A hilarious story?  If so, AWESOME! :)  Lots of women want to share a few stores, but they don't necessarily have the time or desire to go start a whole blog about it...for you ladies, let SOM be your platform!  OR if you already have your own rockin blog, you could share a few of your favorite posts here and become part of the SOM par-TAY!   *Disclaimer: I try to chose posts to share based on what I and my readers would feel comfortable and uplifted by reading.

What can I contribute?

Something that YOU would like to read.  Like hanging out with your close friends...the kind of stuff you share with them.  I always try to keep posts uplifting, but that doens't mean your can't share hard stuff.  That is LIFE!  It's real!  We want to hear about the trials you have overcome, so we can relate to and uplift each other.  For topic ideas, check out the tabs on S.O.M. and look for a topic that you love and are interested in.  And it does NOT have to be just mom stuff, by the way.  This blog is for all ladies. :)

Here's some ideas: home decor, great tips for giving kids the birds and the bees talk, how to travel with a family, dinners on a budget, healthy living, your birth stories, how you met your spouse, dating tips, ways to serve others, struggles you have overcome...there are so many topics we could discuss! :)

Remember, none of us are professional writers.  I can help with editing if you want to share your story, but don't have a lot of writing confidence.  Really, don't be scared to share yourself!  You never know who your story will touch, and what a difference you can make to another who is going through an experience similar to yours.  So, take a risk and open your heart.  Be vulnerable and real (aka-authentic)...we have to be if we want to have deep, meaningful conversations and connections.   YOU are important and we are excited to hear YOUR story! :)  (Check out this AMAZING video on Vulnerability....it changed my life!)

Speaking of being real, here's a quote from the lovely blog, "A Cup of Jo".  In a beautiful post on authenticity, Jo is debating if she should share a difficult, personal experience with her readers.  Her mother gives her these wise words in an email: "A person gives a gift to other people when they say, 'This is what happened to me or this is how I truly feel, no matter what the popular belief is about what I should feel.'  Whenever you are honest, you are speaking for a thousand silent people who don't have the voice to say what they really feel or are really experiencing. So, if you ever talk about [the thing you went through], you will touch a million hearts.  Because you are speaking for more than just yourself.  You are never alone in what you are feeling."

AMEN.  Reach out by sharing yourself.  Others will reach back!  It can be freakin scary to let yourself be seen, but it is SO incredible to know your words made a difference to someone else.

How do I contribute?

Piece of cake!  Just send me an email telling me about your post idea (amy.the.graham@gmail.com).  We'll chat and I'll give you some further guidelines on length, content, format, etc, and you can get-a-writin!
